Frequently Asked Questions
Why only business emails?
We often get asked why do we only focus on email addresses. The answer is that the vast majority of our clients don’t want all the other stuff. We live in a digital world and people are pretty much glued to their phones and laptops. This means you can reach them by email or through banner adverts placed on a variety of social media platforms using our data which can help build very powerful segmented audiences.
What is the email delivery guarantee?
We provide an 90% delivery guarantee on all email records we supply and we utilise a variety of validation tools to achieve this. This means we expect a minimum of 90% of emails that a client sends to be delivered as per standard email delivery metrics. Unfortunately it is common practice for valid emails to not be delivered due to a variety of factors outside of the control of the sender. Why not offer a higher delivery guarantee I hear you ask? Well achieving higher than 90% has an exponential cost implication in order to overcome the measures put in place by large email service providers to process the ever increasing volumes of emails being sent.
Is it legal to buy business lists?
Yes. We only research data sources where the records have been included in the public domain (i.e. anyone can see them). In terms of specific legislation for the United Kingdom you are entitled to contact people by email on their business email address using legitimate business interest, and these types of email records are regarded as corporate subscribers. Hence, we only hold email addresses related to people for the companies that work at and do not hold private emails linked to gmail/yahoo etc. Additionally, GDPR limits you from contacting sole traders and other types of partnerships, and for this reason we tend to focus on larger companies. The alternative is to reach your target audience using programmatic advertising, which means feeding banner adverts to a selected audience rather than sending them a direct email. It’s a slightly longer marketing process but it’s very effective in building trust between a target audience and a brand as you are able to reach prospects across multiple social media channels. We do provide our clients with access to our Company Database where you can filter company specific information to isolate a list of companies you’d like to reach and then upload their details e.g. their company LinkedIn page, which can then be used to feed employees in these companies banner adverts on LinkedIn.
